3rd January – Day 105
My journey back to Hungary commenced with a 4:45 am wake-up call to prepare for the ICE train departing from Cologne Central Station at 6:55 am. We traveled there via S-Bahn from my home district. I mention “we” because my mother accompanied me to bid farewell as I boarded the ICE.
From the onset, complications arose. Before heading to the central station, we received a notification that the first train would be delayed due to a police operation that occurred during its previous journey before reaching Cologne. Fortunately, our journey to the central station was without incident.
Upon arrival, the train’s delay was announced as 45 minutes. This posed a significant issue as it meant I would miss my connection in Frankfurt. During the ride to Frankfurt, I searched for alternative trains. Fortunately, it was relatively simple to locate other trains heading in the same or similar direction. Upon arriving at Frankfurt Airport, I checked the central station as I had planned to take a train departing in four hours. This train was destined directly for Vienna, where I would have transferred to an EC train to Budapest—a route I had taken previously when traveling to Hungary.
After approximately one hour in Frankfurt, I continued to check for earlier connections. Ultimately, I took a train to Nürnberg, then to Vienna, and finally from Vienna to Budapest-Keleti and from Budapest-Keleti to Szolnok.
Upon arriving at the apartment, I met Natia, who is from Georgia. She had previously been a short-term volunteer and returned to serve as a long-term volunteer in Kecskemét. She visited Szolnok during the Christmas holidays but was scheduled to leave the following day. Natia was not alone; shortly after my arrival, her friend also arrived from Budapest that same day. He, too, was from Georgia and had visited Natia during the holidays.

4th December – Day 106
On Saturday Natia and her friend left around noon.
I had free and went grocery shopping because I had almost nothing to eat.
5th December – Day 107
On Sunday I had free to and just relaxed.
